Day 9 - Symmetry

In May of 2007 I graduated high school. That fall I enrolled at Dallas Christian College (DCC), fresh from a trip to Italy (I moved to Dallas the day after I arrived back from my five week trip in Italy), I was ready to take on the school. I pursued a BA in Biblical Studies which I was able to accomplish in six semesters. Two months after graduation I began working at DCC in the admissions department. Nearly four years, five offices, four bosses, two departments, and a second BA in Business later, I still work my way around DCC. Yet despite these changes and accomplishments I have experienced the heart of the college has stayed the same.

The administration building lacks an elevator, it was built before the Americans with Disabilities Act and was grandfathered in. From taking the steps three at time because I was 15 minutes late to a major test, to climbing the stairs to my office, I have climbed the stairs at the college more than I care to ever count. It's odd climbing the stairs in the same building where I was mentored and now get a chance to mentor other students. It's like a symmetry dividing two major sections of my life.
